Morena!
Here is a recipe to make Anzac cookies:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 1 tbs water
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda


EQUIPMENT

  • 2 baking tray
  • 1 sieve
  • 1 saucepan


Method

Sift the flour into a bowl. Add the sugar, rolled oats and coconut,
Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add golden syrup and water,
Stir the bicarbonate of soda into the liquid mixture,
Add the liquid to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly,
Place walnut-sized balls of mixture on a greased tray and bake at 175C for 15-20 minutes

  1. Hi Maia. Thanks for posting this recipe. Did you make these cookies? Were they tasty? Why did the wives of the soldiers make Anzac biscuits? Did they use the same recipe?

    1. No, we made them out of another recipe, and they were real good, thank you.
      The wives made them for the soldiers because they didn't have much food but the cookies.
      They probably didn't use this recipe, since its a Australian recipe.

  3. This looks like a perfect recipe Maia, I wonder if you burnt any like me? I left some in the oven for too long and they were almost black!! I need to use the timer on the oven next time!
    I like the sequence you wrote using a verb at the start of each thing you do-good procedure writing.
